After the ceremony, with the help of SMHS students, SMHS students, their families and alumni, SMHS coaches, San Mateo city officials, and community members, toured the new Athletic Training Complex. The approximately 20,085 square foot building features a gym which may be used for basketball, volleyball or badminton, as well as locker rooms, a training room, coaches’ offices and a classroom.
Construction began in June 2024 and wrapped in July 2025. With a budget of $23.58 million, this Athletic Training Complex is one of the major milestones funded through Measure L, our $385 million bond passed in 2020. SMUHSD and San Mateo High School wish to extend their gratitude to the voters and taxpayers of our District for their support of Measure L.
